Cancer Screenings
The early detection of cancer usually leads to better treatment options and outcomes. The American Cancer Society maintains that regular screening for nine screening accessible sites (breast, tongue, mouth, colon, rectum, cervix, prostate, testis, and melanoma/skin) would increase early detection 15 percent.
There are effective methods and guidelines for cancer screening that can lead to early detection of cancers of the breast, cervix, colon, and prostate. For free information regarding these guidelines, contact your family physician or MetroWest Cancer Care Center at (508) 383-8529 or (508) 383-1260.
