In an emergency situation, people need an accessible and reliable place to turn for medical care. To meet the needs of patients and their families during medical emergencies. MetroWest Medical Center offers 24 hour, seven days per week. Comprehensive emergency services at both Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital Emergency Departments (EDs). In addition to providing comprehensive medical services in the EDs, our hospitals are staffed and equipped to manage complex medical concerns at all times of the day. Follow up care is readily available in:
§ Cardiac care
§ Intensive care
§ Maternity
§ Pediatrics
§ Surgery
Emergency Department staffing includes physicians certified in Emergency Medicine, and nurses certified in advanced cardiac care, advanced pediatric life support and trauma nursing.
As an added benefit to children, Pediatric Emergency physicians from Children's Hospital in Boston are available to treat patients at the Framingham Union Hospital's ED from noon to midnight every day of the week. For patients with lower acuity health issues, Framingham Union Hospital's ED offers a "fast track" access walk-in clinic each day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
