  • Faster treatment

    Hopkinton ambulances are now equipped with modems to transmit EKG data to MetroWest Medical Center so doctors can be ready for patients suffering certain heart problems when they reach the hospital. According to Deputy Fire Chief Steve Slaman, the LifeNet system is meant to cut down on the time it takes to get patients in need of emergency angioplasty from their homes to specialized treatment in Framingham. “They call it door-to-balloon time and they want to get it under 90 minutes,” Slaman said. With the new technology in the ambulances, not only can doctors at the MetroWest Cardiac Catheterization Lab see the patient’s heart readings, but the data also can be sent via computer to a doctor’s cellphone.

  • The Heart Center of MetroWest and The CardioVascular Center at Tufts Medical Center Announce Clinical Partnership

    The Heart Center of MetroWest (HCMW), a 12-cardiologist specialty practice group, and Tufts Medical Center have entered into a new clinical partnership to enhance cardiovascular services for patients from the MetroWest region. HCMW physicians will join Tufts Medical Center’s CardioVascular Center and work with Tufts MC’s physicians and surgeons to provide comprehensive services, including pre and post cardiac surgery care, at MetroWest Medical Center. The relationship builds on the robust adult and pediatric partnerships Tufts Medical Center has developed with MetroWest Medical Center and its physicians over the previous two years.

  • Senator Richard Moore Receives Legislator of Year Award from Massachusetts Podiatrists

    Senator Richard Moore, senate chair of the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, was recently presented with the “Legislator of the Year Award” from the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society (MPMS). Dr. Donald Adams, chief of podiatry at MetroWest Medical Center, pictured on the left, made the presentation.

  • Digital Mammography Screenings at MWMC Milford Now Open!

    Digital Mammography Screenings will be available at the MetroWest Professional Medical Center at Milford starting Tuesday, July 5th! A screening mammogram can be booked if it has been at least 1 year and a day since your last mammogram, you are not experiencing any problems, and you do not have implants.
