The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.

Class Listing

Family & Friends Infant CPR 6:00-8-30pm - $35

This is not a certification course. This course is for the lay person who does not need to be certified but wants to learn CPR. This course will teach prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, injuries, choking, CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for infant victims.

Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR Certification for the Layperson 6:00-9:00pm - $60

 

This course is for the lay rescuer who needs a credential documenting successful completion of a CPR course. This course will prepare you to respond to emergencies in the workplace as a part of an emergency response system. This course includes information about warning signs of heart attack and stroke, CPR and relief of choking (foreign body airway obstruction) for adult and child victims. A textbook is required study and will be provided to you upon receipt of your registration fee. Certification will expire two years from date of course.

 

2012 dates: November 8 & December 4

 

Heartsaver First Aid 6:00-10:00pm - $50

Provides training in basic first-aid procedures. A textbook for study will be provided upon receipt of your registration fee. Individuals will receive a course card certifying them for two years.

BLS for Healthcare Providers-Initial Certification 6:00-9:00pm both evenings - $70

This course is intended for licensed and certified healthcare professionals with emphasis on anatomy and physiology and on scientific rationale for actions and recommendations. This course will teach you how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies such as signs and symptoms of acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, stroke, and foreign-body airway obstruction (Choking). You will learn CPR for victims of all ages, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. A textbook is required study and will be provided to you upon receipt of your registration fee. Certification will expire two years from date of course.

 

2012 dates: November 20 & 27 and December 11 & 18

 

BLS for Healthcare Providers-Renewal 6:00-10:00pm - $40

This course will update the skills you learned in your initial training (New texts are available for $11.00, upon registration). Participants must have a “current” BLS for Healthcare Providers card, which has not expired.
