The Tedeschi Library provides healthcare information for employees, staff members and affiliates of MetroWest medical Center. In addition to patient care, we support education, research, and management/administrative decision-making.
Web Sites of Interest
- MEDLINE via PubMed The premier medical database from the National Library of Medicine. Useful for those who participate in Loansome Doc.
- NLM Gateway This is a good site for new searchers. It uses a single interface to search multiple resources. Includes MEDLINE as well as MEDLINEplus and a variety of other NLM resources. Loansome Doc participants may also use this site.
- Medlineplus MEDLINEplus brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other government, non-profit and other health-related organizations. Pre-formulated MEDLINE searches are included in MEDLINEplus and give easy access to the medical research literature. It also provides a database of full-text drug information and an illustrated medical encyclopedia.
Book and Journal Collection
We have a clinically focused collection of many electronic books and journals available via our computers. The books in our circulating collection may be checked-out by employees and staff members.
The library provides services to assist users in finding and obtaining materials. Using our print collection or one of the many databases and electronic resources we have available, library users can identify specific books and journal articles to answer their questions.
The electronic resources are available for staff via computers throughout the hospital, as well as remotely from home or office using their CITRIX account.
The library is staffed Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. After-hours access is available to employees and staff members through their MWMC badge.
The library is located on the 4th floor of the hospital.
