Department of Emergency Medicine
  • Provides emergency and urgent care services to the Town of Framingham and approximately 10 surrounding communities.
  • Sees 70,000 patients per year
  • Serves as a base station for community paramedics and advanced EMTs
  • Transitional residents are exposed to a broad range of medical and surgical problems, including acute medicine, trauma, pediatrics, minor surgery and orthopedics.
  • All house staff rotate through the department and provide care under the supervision of Board-certified emergency room physicians.
Department of Pediatrics
  • Consists of over 60 community-based primary care pediatricians and subspecialists practicing in the fields of Allergy, Cardiology, Diabetes/Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pulmonary Medicine, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Surgery, and Urology
  • Full-time neonatologist and 24-hour neonatology backup covering Level II and well newborn nurseries from Children's Hospital Medical Center.
  • Pediatric emergency room physicians from Children's Hospital Medical Center staff Framingham Union Hospital Emergency Room noon- midnight - 7 days/week
  • Third year clerkship provided to Boston University medical students
  • Transitional residents are assigned to Pediatrics for a three month block
  • Work with residents from the Boston Combined Residency Program (Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center)
  • Full schedule of teaching conferences Grand Rounds, Radiology conferences, and staff attending and didactic rounds
  • Strong commitment to academic medicine and clinical research
  • Excellent educational opportunity to develop teaching skills under supervision of pediatric staff
  • Pediatric radiologist on staff
