At MetroWest Medical Center, we know our youngest behavioral health patients deserve specialized care that helps them cope with whatever issues may be troubling them. That’s why the Child Development Unit (CDU) at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, offers a structured environment exclusively for children ages 3 to 17.
Here we can provide compassionate pediatric mental health services, ranging from psychopharmacological evaluations, to individual, group and family therapy, to on-site tutoring. Our Child Development Unit has a long-standing reputation as being a state-wide leader on the prevention of restraint and seclusion by utilizing a strength-based program, which means we focus on a child's strengths instead of their weaknesses.
The MetroWest Child Development Unit offers a variety of pediatric mental health treatments, including:
- A 12-bed locked, inpatient unit
- Milieu treatment in a structured environment
- Board-certified child psychiatrists
- Individual, group and family therapy
- On-site tutors who work with outside agencies and schools
