Statistics About Gallbladder Cancer
Some people use statistics to try to figure out their chance of getting cancer or of being cured. However, statistics show only what happens in large groups of people. Because no two people are the same, you cannot use them to predict what might happen to you.
The following are 2012 statistics about gallbladder and biliary cancer from the American Cancer Society (ACS):
The ACS reports that about 60 percent of gallbladder and biliary cancers are cancers of the gallbladder. Survival rates for people with gallbladder cancer depend on how advanced the cancers are when first diagnosed.
