Uterine Cancer Prevention

Some studies show that eating foods with less fat may prevent uterine cancer.

There are certain changes a woman can make in her lifestyle that may lessen her risk of developing uterine cancer. These include:

  • Staying at a healthy weight

  • Weight loss in women who are overweight

  • Following a low-fat diet

  • Being physically active

  • Taking birth control pills. Studies suggest that the use of birth control pills may decrease the risk of uterine cancer. However, other risks may be associated with birth control, so it's important to discuss the possible risks and benefits with your doctor.

  • Having children may lower her chance of getting uterine cancer
