Any emergency situation, no matter how simple or serious, requires accessible and reliable care. We have the experience to guide you through any problem that takes you from your daily routine. Your life is in our hands and that is not something we take lightly.
When an emergency strikes your family, the last thing you should have to worry about is the quality of care you get when you arrive at the emergency department. At MetroWest Medical Center, you won’t have to.
Your emergency, our expertise.
In a crisis, you’re scared and looking for answers. To meet the needs of our patients and their families during any medical emergency, MetroWest Medical Center offers comprehensive emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week at both Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital Emergency Departments.
Our emergency rooms are staffed with physicians who are board-certified in emergency medicine, and nurses certified in advanced cardiac care, advanced pediatric life support and trauma nursing.
If you come into our ER having a heart attack, we are more prepared than other emergency departments to help you recover quickly. Our angioplasty team is alerted as soon as you arrive and you will be taken right to the cath lab for the procedure. The longer this process takes, the more muscle your heart will lose. Our door-to-balloon times and complication rates are some of the best in the state.
You don’t have to look for the nearest children’s hospital in an emergency. Our emergency pediatric services offer a new level of exceptional care, thanks to our partnership with Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston which brings advanced pediatric care, right here, every day of the week.
Not only do pediatric emergencies get their own waiting room, our on-site Child Life Specialist is trained in child development to minimize stress and maximize coping in the ER. By reducing the fear of our littlest patients we can help them view us as their friends and allies, while parents can rest a little easier that their child feels safe.
Beyond the emergency.
In addition to providing comprehensive emergency services, our hospitals are staffed and equipped to manage complex medical concerns at all times of the day. Follow-up care is readily available in:
