Since 1991, the Wound Management Center at MetroWest Medical Center has provided comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and preventative care to patients who suffer from wounds. Located at the Framingham campus the Center’s interdisciplinary approach to wound care can benefit individuals experiencing the following conditions:
- Neuropathic ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Arterial ulcers
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Traumatic ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Burns that require outpatient care
Each patient receives a wound evaluation to develop an individualized treatment program. Comprehensive education for our patients and caregivers includes topical wound care, nutrition and preventative measures to reduce the occurrence of further ulcers. Laboratory, radiological and non-invasive vascular testing are arranged to assist with diagnosis and treatment of wounds as necessary. We provide access to podiatry and infectious disease services as needed. Advanced wound care modalities such as negative pressure wound therapy and application of skin substitutes to stimulate healing are part of the services available to promote closure of chronic wounds.

An experienced team of healthcare professionals who are trained in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of wounds staff the Wound Management Center.
