Premier Full-Service Laboratories
MetroWest Medical Center offers two hospital based laboratories serving the Framingham and Natick area. The labs are full service with a comprehensive testing menu performing 98% of all tests on site at MetroWest Laboratory. Our equipment is state-of-the-art and highly automated, allowing us to provide high quality clinical analysis with accurate and timely results. Our medical technologists and histologists have many years of experience in laboratory medicine and can address your technical questions with the expertise necessary to best assist you. Our phlebotomists, processors, transcriptionists, and other support staff are well trained and dedicated to providing special laboratory services. As a result, they have the skill and focus required to meet the needs of the patients, physicians, and support personnel.

Service Locations
For your convenience, MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories have patient service centers located throughout the community. Patients benefit from quick and easy access to laboratory collection services with minimal disruption to their busy lives. Our service centers are staffed with highly trained laboratory personnel whose primary responsibility is to provide laboratory collection services for your patient satisfaction.

Courier Services
MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories cover our service area with a dedicated courier network that provides specimen pickup from your office. Flexible pick-up times can be arranged. Specimen lockboxes are provided as needed and we can arrange STAT specimen pickups. Our laboratory couriers receive special training in the proper handling and transportation of specimens to insure the integrity of patient samples.

STAT Services
Unlike many national laboratories, MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories can provide both same day and STAT service. Test results can be quickly transmitted to your office or called directly even if the request occurs after normal office hours.

Test Directory
MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories’ test directory provides detailed instructions for proper sample collection. The directory also includes information on fasting criteria and sample processing.

Information Technology
Our Meditech Web based software allows for result viewing directly from your office. Benefits include:

• Automatic transmission of test result for quick, easy retrieval via the Internet

Board-Certified Pathologists
Medical direction is provided by a team of board certified pathologists. These pathologists have many years of experience and can offer assistance in the selection and interpretation of clinical laboratory tests. Besides years of clinical and anatomic pathology experience, many have additional expertise in specific specialties such as Cytopathology, Hematopathology and Radioisotopic Pathology. Our pathologists are readily available to actively consult with referring physicians to review cases and provide diagnostic interpretation.

Continuum of Care
Using the MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories for all your laboratory testing eliminates the worry of comparing and correlating test results from different laboratories, which may use varying methodologies and report formats. Our ability to provide you with a continuum of laboratory services also allows for quick retrieval of test results from both inpatient stays and outpatient visits with one telephone call or via the Internet.

Billing Services
MetroWest Medical Center Laboratories can accommodate most insurance plans and offers competitive patient prices and client fees. Our dedicated billing system produces easy-to-interpret, client and patient friendly billing statements.

Our patient service centers are open during normal weekday business hours with limited services on Saturdays.
