The Joint Replacement Program is a comprehensive program for the patient.
We know that knee and hip pain can deprive many people of the normal activities of daily living. Simple pleasures like walking, shopping, and participating in favorite pastimes or hobbies become difficult if not impossible. Diet, exercise and medications under a physician’s care may help alleviate the pain and discomfort. When they do not, it may be time to consider joint replacement.
Our innovative Joint Replacement Program brings together a competent and caring team of outstanding surgeons with a dedicated multidisciplinary staff of nurses, therapists, and others to help you regain a new lease on life. We believe that you play a key role in ensuring a successful recovery from surgery and that well educated patients are more likely to have better outcomes. Therefore, we place a high priority on making sure you and your loved ones are well informed through each step of the program.
The Joint Replacement Program starts with a pre-operative class several weeks prior to surgery. After surgery, patients stay in an area of the hospital specially designed for joint replacement patients. Patients progress through rehabilitation as a group, dress in their street clothes, and can participate in group lunches as well as a mini golf putting contest, and then receive a gourmet meal before being discharged home.
