MetroWest Medical Center was named one of Boston region’s top hospitals in the 2016 edition of “Best Hospitals” produced by U.S. News & World Report.  Additional recent quality awards include:

STEMI

The American Heart Association has awarded MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham the Mission: Lifeline’s Gold-Plus award, which recognizes the hospital has not only reached an achievement score of 75 percent or greater on all Mission: Lifeline Receiving Center Quality Measures, but also for achieving at least a 75 percent achievement on First Door to Device time under 120 minutes for STEMI transfer patients from other facilities.

Framingham Union Hospital received the 2016 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Framingham Union Hospital was also awarded with the 2016 Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Foundation’s secondary prevention guidelines for patients with heart failure.

Leonard Morse Hospital received the 2016 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment and success in ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

MetroWest Medical Center received the 2016 Health Grades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.  Hospitals given this distinction are rated in the top 5% in the nation with the lowest risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates across at least 21 of 32 common conditions and procedures.

MetroWest Medical Center is one of the first hospitals to receive the Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction® Center for Maternity Care designation.  This designation recognizes hospitals that meet obstetric related quality goals, requires that hospitals practice evidence-based care, and requires hospitals to have initiated programs to promote successful breastfeeding.

MetroWest Medical Center’s has been named a Blue Distinction® Center for Bariatric Surgery Program, with a BDC Plus designation for Gastric Banding.  The BDC Plus designation signifies that our program meets nationally established quality-focused criteria that emphasize patient safety, outcomes, and cost of care criteria.
