CT Calcium Scoring test for Coronary Heart Disease now available at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham Union Campus

A Calcium Scoring CT Scan is a test that can help show whether you have Coronary Heart Disease.  Criteria for a calcium score exam is if you have an intermediate risk or intermediate risk equivalent of Coronary Heart Disease; this is the most common heart disease in both men and women according to the National Heart and Lung Institute.

Other Benefits of a Calcium Scoring Tests:

  • A fast, convenient and non-invasive procedure
  • A Calcium Score Exam will identify calcium or plaque in the walls of the coronary arteries.
  • Will determine percentile rank for risk of Coronary Heart Disease. 

Results are categorized by a calcium score. If the score is high, further cardiac testing and screening may be suggested.

If interested, ask your physician to order a CT Calcium Scoring.

This procedure is a self-pay.  A $50.00 self payment is due prior to, or at the time of the test and a bill in the amount of $49.00 will be sent to the patient by the physician interpreting the scan.
