Black Bat Bean Brownies

Not only will this tasty, moist and delicious treat satisfy your sweet tooth, it is also low in fat and salt, and a heart healthy snack your children will enjoy too.  Plus, it’s super easy (but no one has to know).

Ingredients:

1 box of low fat brownie mix

1 15-ounce can (no salt added) black beans, rinsed and drained

1 cup of water

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. vanilla

1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Place brownie mix in medium mixing bowl.
  2. In blender or food processor, puree black beans and water until smooth.
  3. Add bean mixture, cinnamon, vanilla and cayenne pepper to brownie mix. Mix well.
  4. Bake according to package directions on the brownie mix. Once cooled, use a bat shaped stamp from your local craft store to make bat images on brownies
