Occupational Therapy

Improving Your Daily Function

MetroWest Medical Center’s occupational therapy program is designed to help you achieve independence in all aspects of your daily life. Our occupational therapists will work with you to help you develop the skills you need to succeed on your own. We help patients with a wide range of issues, including toileting, getting dressed and safe meal preparation. 

Occupational Therapy Services

We offer strategies to conserve your energy and increase functional mobility. Our occupational therapy program also offers adaptive equipment training and custom splinting services.

Occupational therapy at MetroWest offers treatment for:

  • Post-surgical conditions (orthopedic and neurological)
  • Orthopedic conditions, such as arthritis
  • Neurological conditions, including stroke
  • Post-trauma/injury conditions
  • Work-related injuries

During your evaluation, your occupational therapist will:

  • Identify your limitations in range of motion, strength and balance
  • Assess your deficits in activities of daily living
  • Assess your need for adaptive equipment or a brace/splint
  • Educate you and your family on your condition
  • Create your plan of care
