 | MetroWest Medical Center has been designated by Aetna into its Elective Delivery Infant Safe Program. This designation recognizes hospital delivery programs that DO NOT encourage elective deliveries to be scheduled prior to 39 completed weeks of pregnancy since electing to deliver PRIOR to 39 weeks can be harmful to a mother and her baby by increasing the risk of premature birth and the need to spend more time in the hospital or in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). |
